The Texas Department of State Health Services (TX DSHS) will be
holding an Immunization Clinic and Flu Vaccine Clinic, on Thursday,
April 12th in Ballinger at 600 Strong Avenue.
These Monthly Clinics are for Children on Medicaid, Children with No
Insurance - or who are underinsured, and for Adults with no insurance.
Parents are reminded to take their child's immunization record forms
and Medicaid Cards with them to the Clinic.

- Canine Venomous Snake-Proofing Clinic
Dove Hunting Retriever Club is putting on a Snake-Proofing Clinic at
the Tom Green County 4-H Center on 67 North on April 14th. The event
is NOT JUST for hunting dogs - but all dogs are welcome. Snake Proofing
helps protect your best friend from the hazards of poisionous snakes
taking advantage of an early spring! Cost is just $40 per dog, and discounts
are offered for owners with multiple dogs. Dogs need to be at least
6 months old to go through the program, and any and all breeds are welcome.

Thursday, April 19th - Ballinger ISD Pre-K
Ballinger Elementary School will conduct a pre-registration for 2018/2019
Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten students beginning on Monday, April
16th through Thursday, April 19th, 2018 from 8:30am-3:30pm. Parents or
guardians of Pre-K and Kindergarten students who did not attend the elementary
school during the 2017/2018 school year are asked to come to Ballinger
Elementary School, 800 Broad Avenue in Ballinger, and Pre-Register.
To be eligible for public school Pre-K, children must
be atleast 4 years of age on or before September 1st, 2018. To be eligible
for public school kindergarten, children must be at least 5 years of

State Festival of Ethnic Cultures Arts and Crafts Show
Take the entire family to Ballinger on Saturday, April 28th for a full
day of events. Colorado River Bikefest at 8 am, Parade at 10 am and vendor
booths open, Entertainment begins at 11 am and the "3 on 3"
Basketball Tournament starts along with the Car and Motorcycle Show. The
Beer and Wine Garden opens at noon, Lone Star Lead and Lace Gun Slingers
on the lawn. Taste a Variety of Ethnic Food: German, Italian, Mexican,
African American, American, Texan, Czech. Pie baking contest at 2 pm,
with a Dog Show beginning at 4 pm.
Also in downtown Ballinger during this event, there will be a Lone Star
Market at the Wool and Mohair buildng and the Mid-West Texas Artist Guild

end to Multiple Sclerosis.
San Angelo Walk MS event will be on Saturday, April 28th, at Kirby Park,
1401 Edmund Blvd, in San Angelo. This family-friendly event features both,
1 mile and 5k, route options. Registration begins at 9AM and the Walk
begins at 10AM. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided before
and after the walk. Team up with loved ones, co-workers, and friends to

On 15 December 1967, near My An, Binh Dinh Provence, Vietnam, (then Spc4)
Allen James Lynch, at the risk of his life, rescued three wounded soldiers
from their exposed positions, and carried the wounded men to safety. He
then stayed behind to protect them when the rest of his company withdrew.
He single-handedly defended the wounded men against additional attack
by a determined superior number of enemy until locating a friendly force
